I was so disappointed. I was a WMCU volunteer and sponsor. I am so happy that something is being done. I have been praying for reestablishment of the station…Please email me back and I will continue to pray. Thank you for taking action. You will surely be blessed. God Bless and much love and support. I miss WMCU Spirit FM so much. The way it was taken from us was so wrong. Thanks to the article in "The Good News" I found out about this website. God willing we will get Spirit FM back with all the original staff. Thank you so much. JN

I was shocked to hear the news and was only glad I came back from a business trip in time to listen to the last week of the station. But something has to be done. MH

A time when we as the Body of Christ and on the days of the Great Commission, we need to join together to save a voice that touches everyone that listens and hear His call and Words of Wisdom thru the messages and speakers on this wonderful station. It's like part of my daily routine is missing and have not found one where I can get reception, or compares to your messages. WMCU - you are truly missed. SQ

We have the power of attorney to use His name; Evil take your hands off this local blessing in Jesus name. CK

These are some comments I emailed to The Good News newspaper:

I “discovered” WMCU shortly after I moved to Broward County from the mountains of Virginia in September, 1995. After several years of only having access to Country Gospel music (which I don’t care for), I thought this was the most wonderful music I had ever heard. I also searched and found other Christian stations in this area, but the music I wanted to listen to was played primarily on WMCU. It wasn’t just the music, nor just the great syndicated programs they played, such as Pastors Tony Evans, Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, James McDonald, John MacArthur, Bob Coy and of course, Wit’s End for the kids. Over the years, the radio hosts changed, meshed and didn’t mesh, but in the last year, they had become the most cohesive team of people there could ever be on a radio station. The love of Christ was reflected in everything each person said and they way they lived their lives and the way they all pulled together when it was necessary. I am in frequent prayer for Merryan, Donna Jean, Kenny, James, JoAnn, Dwight and I’m not sure their receptionist Vicki was still there, but her as well. I pray that God will prosper each of them, not just financially, but in their opportunity to serve Him in their lives.

I personally know Merryan Padron, since she attends my church and ran the sound board for our Worship Team for quite awhile. I’ve met most of the other people at the station, volunteered at a couple of the Share-a-thons, and even though I don’t make much money, gave what I felt God wanted me to give in support of the station. If I knew there was a way I could help to bring this station back, I would do everything that I could do.

I was shocked and devastated, when my radio went on at 6am on Wednesday morning of the week before they went off the air, to hear Merryan’s voice saying that the season for WMCU had come to an end. Our pastor (at Calvary Chapel Sawgrass) had just given a message the Sunday before on the seasons of life based on the Scripture, “to everything there is a season…”. She had just mentioned the sermon to Donna Jean on Tuesday and asked the question of the listeners, “If you knew that tomorrow was your last day to live, what would you do?” Now I knew why she asked that question. I felt badly because I had flippantly emailed her and said, “Do you mean after I eat the case of Twinkies?”

Almost everyone I know was a devoted listener of this fine station and those who weren’t, just didn’t know what they were missing. We are blessed here in Broward to have a few options in Christian radio. I am so sorry to hear that Miami does not.

I was thrilled to hear James’ voice on WAFG last Friday, but it made me miss WMCU even more.

Thank you for this opportunity to share my feelings and express my sorrow and anger at the loss of this integral part of the Christian community in South Florida. But God’s mercy endures forever and He reigns in all that we bear. SLC

I am happy to see that something is being done to at least try to save Christian radio in South Florida. It all happened so fast that it was heartbreaking that nobody could even say good bye to the station they so faithfully supported all these years...it didn't seem any consideration was given to them at all. I wish you well with this and pray it all works out. I believe it will. MK

Thank you for being there when i needed to hear you most. And still need you. AS

I sorely miss listening to wmcu! I have a small collection of cd's but they don't cover walk in the word and the wonderful time with John McArthur! LC

PRAISE THE LORD!!! I couldn't be more ecstatic about a movement to redeem the most influential and prominent Christian voice in South Florida. I'm with you. RN

Bring WMCU BACK!!!! PM

As a share partner with WMCU for some time now, it came with quite a shock to hear of the sale and closure of WMCU. Hopefully, this is not God's will and with His divine intervention WMCU will return to the airwaves. WS

SAVE WMCU!!!!!! SL

We can't afford to lose the only FM Christian station that reaches us in So. Fla. The classical music they play in its place is nice, but not at the cost of the only Christian program. We need more Christian stations, not less, not none. Thanks for the updates as to what is happening. I will pray for God to do mighty things in this situation. NM

10/28/07

The loss of WMCU is a GREAT loss to the community. As we know that God Is In Control and as those working to save WMCU continue to demonstrate honor, integrity in your "fight", I know each of you will continue to be used by God as His plans unfold. Remember, His ways are higher than our ways and even when for the life of us we can't see what God could possibly be doing or thinking, we can keep on keeping on knowing that he uses ALL THINGS for the good of His people. Thank you for remaining faithful and honorable during this time of testing! In God's Love....and continued prayer.... LG

I'm so shocked... I thought that there was a technical problem with the station. As a police officer living in The Bahamas, I get a smile from Kenny and Donna on my way to work. I need those guys back.....please...this is unreal AW

Praying 1 Cor: 15:58 for you all! Be encouraged, thank you for all your efforts! KN

The closing of WMCU was and is very disturbing. This is just another example of greed. This year, I spent months researching to locate a Christian bible college to pursue graduate studies. I decided against Trinity. This sale of WMCU confirms my observation that Trinity University is motivated by money, which is why I never donated to the telethons conducted by WMCU. I did not want a nickel of my money going to Trinity. I work on the grounds of Broward Correctional Institution and WMCU is the only Christian radio station whose signal I can receive. So now I have no more Christian radio, no more noon Bible study on the radio. This sale is disgraceful. CD

I discovered this station by accident and left it on. I am a practicing Catholic, however, I felt that the format allowed all Christians to receive God's Word and Holy Spirit. I was sadly informed after the fact that the station went off the air. This past week, I heard of this website from the sister station in Palm Beach. As was expressed in the appeal to save WMCU, it is hard for me to get a clear signal from Palm Beach. Your Sister in Christ, MT

Glad to hear that there is a possibility of restoring WMCU! I miss it. CS

The greater Miami area needs a Christian station like the 89.7SpiritFM to spread the Word of God through messages and music. PB

I will definitely send my letter to the FCC and TIU and everyone else you mentioned there. It's funny, because I've been praying for an answer; I need WMCU or another station like it. Living in Cutler Bay, the frequencies here are terrible for any of the stations mentioned. And besides all that, it’s just not the type of music WMCU use to play. WMCU was my bloodline to Christ throughout the day. Now my head, room, car, and home is filled with silence, and I refuse to listen to any other "junk". I pray that what you're doing will help us who have been "dry" for the past, almost four weeks. God bless you. YSIC, PR

The lost of WMCU affected my life tremendously. I listened to them on my way to work, during lunch hour and on my way home from work. When I found out, I was very angry; then I asked God for peace, which he gave me. What hurts the most is that they did not give us the chance to the staff which was a part of our family for so long. I think that was unfair. I have a 3 year old daughter that when I picked her up from pre-school used to sing the song "take the ride with James Sheppard". I don't think they know how big of a loss this is to our community. I am willing to join forces with the Christian Community to help restore our beloved station. God Bless and Thank you, RH

We live in Key Largo and we do not receive any Christian station except "the call" which is not our cup of tea. We would appreciate WMCU being back on the air so that we have something to listen to edify our spirits. Thank you for your efforts. My God bless your actions and hear the cry of His people. MB

10/25/07

WMCU was the only station that played in my car. The kids loved it. I am a firm believer that garbage in garbage out, there was not any garbage with WMCU. We miss them very much and want to see them either come back or another Christian Radio station take their place, but not jazz or any other form of music. We are in the dark without a Christian radio station in South Florida. The other Christian station come in kind of but it's like having a scratchy throat, it's not good. We need a strong Christian station here in South Florida. We need one that reaches Cutler Ridge!!!!!!!!!!! L&WH

Save WMCU Don’t let the secular world win this one. DC

I would like to know that WMCU is back on the air. When the announcement came across that it will no longer be on the air, my heart sank with sadness. As a young person, I always listen to 89.7 spirit fm because it had such a youthful and joyful spirit to it. Donna and Kenny are hilarious on the morning show and the others are quite delightful to hear. I miss them already and every so often I switch over to 89.7 to see if it was a dream and they're still on. I tried to listen to others like 89.3 or 90.3 but I'm sorry, they lack luster. It definitely isn't the same. But God knows best. I'll keep you all in prayer & I hope it does come back on the air. God bless you all always, AS

May the good Lord bless your effort. It was very sad, that the radio station was sold, I wish the Trinity management could have asked the listeners to contribute $20 million for the purchase of the station. DF

It's truly sad that a "listener supported radio station" can be sold right out from under the very "supporters." This leads me to ask an obvious question, "Is the station really something that can be sold?" Perhaps someone should remind the FCC that the assets that are being sold were purchased in part with the gifts, pledges, and other contributions of the listeners. Even the very transmission tower that crashed during Hurricane Andrew was re-built with listener support (even while operating at reduced signal strength.) We were not consulted about this decision nor given any voice in the outcome. I believe now is our chance, BB

I've been listing to 89.7 since I was 13, and now I'm 28. This was the only station I allow my child to listen to, because it has great programs on Saturdays, and the songs have a positive meaning. Now, I have to fight with my radio to get some kind of signal from 89.3. Please bring back 89.7 EV

Its really sad that while I am working that there is no WMCU Radio to listen to. KDJ

Keep WMCU on the air - they are a station like no other. They truly represent our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. AS

I am so saddened that WMCUwmcu is no longer. We really need that station that has been such a blessing to so many people. We need that station back on the radio. The Gospel was being shared all over the world and has been such a blessing to me and to everyone else. The programs on the radio the music everything was uplifting and encouraging. VH

I was elated to hear that the Holy Spirit leadings has brought about this effort. I prayed for a WMCU miracle. I woke up with WMCU, and many times went to sleep with it. It helped me through many days. I would like to be a part of this effort. EB

I have been listening to the station since I moved here in 1986 and when the station stopped playing it was like losing a friend. In the last days of the station the employees of the station came on with little info commercials saying they were ending the broadcasting for WMCU and that the money was going to educate new pastors and teachers.... well I hate to say that the people who made this decision didn’t have any concern for WMCU's listening public, leaving the city the size of Miami without a Christian station was wrong and the people who made the decision really didn’t think the process through or they would not of done it. Please reconsider this wrong decision and let God do what he does best and that control this very negative situation. Thank You. SW

Whatever I can do to save our beloved station. I am on board! I've already e-mailed T.I.U President and FCC and board members of T.I.U. - anything more you may suggest. I'm open to receive. Thanks for all your effort - God bless you and may He prospers each effort into successful overturn of this sale & return our beloved station to us! O&LM

I miss WMCU so much. My day is not the same without prayers, music and words of encouragement. Please bring it back. DA

Thank God that you have picked up the ball. WE NEED THIS CAMPAIGN. WITH GOD'S HELP WE WILL WIN. MAY HIS WILL BE DONE. KM

10/22/07

Very sadden about the station, but feel betrayed more than anything that the university would sell out in the name of financial wisdom. "for the love of money is the root of all evil". DDDA

10/20/07

This station has simply been a blessing to my whole family and my church family as well. I just don't know how the new born Christians that I disciple would have made it on their way to work through this South Florida traffic without this God-given station. and I know that God will save this station. AA

I heard of this effort, which you started, for the first time on WRMB Friday, 10-19-07, and I believe that this is a great idea. To save this radio ministry, which has been around for thirty-seven years. Losing it would be a tremendous loss. I hope that by God's grace and all our combined efforts, we will prevail. God bless you and the WMCU ministry. JC

I was horrified when I found out about this! It happened when I was temporarily out of commission due to a broken ankle. In my usual life, WMCU is the ONLY radio station that I listen to (except sometimes the news station) I depend on WMCU during my stressful commutes in this Miami traffic and also at my non-stop busy job. WMCU keeps me calm and centered. I support WMCU financially and just sent in another $75 on 08/13/07 only to hear they were possibly closing. My prayers are with keeping WMCU - Miami undoubtedly needs WMCU!!!! God Bless you & this goal, TW

I am saddened that WMCU 89.7 Spirit FM is off the air! I stayed up until 12:00am the Sunday of the final broadcast and it truly left me in great confusion. I asked myself, "How can this blessing no longer be here?". I went on to listen to the last prayer I would ever hear from WMCU and listened to the last song played: Friends Are Friends Forever, by Michael W. Smith. That’s when it all hit me!

I attend a Hispanic congregation in Miami. The congregation turned 50 years old this last May, and I have to say that scenes from good and bad times flashed through my mind as I heard the song. I am a member of Templo de la Biblia Abierta for 20 years now and I have seen people come and go through that particular song. I have seen youth groups and youth friends come and go through that song.

WMCU 89.7 Spirit FM is the only Christian radio for South Florida. I know there are others which have the Lord’s blessing, but this is the station that saw me through both, very depressing and glad moments in my life: through loneliness, divorce, marriage, childbirth, college graduation (I am a Trinity Graduate in Psychology), first car, family additions, you name it, etc, etc, etc. I am deeply against the sale of this radio station; I humbly ask that you please reconsider. May the Lord guide you into His perfect will now and always. AM

I just heard your interview on 89.3 fm, and was glad to hear someone was trying to do something to get WMCU back. I really miss that station, because they were a great inspiration to me during some very difficult times, and they not only delivered the word in messages, but in music also. Please keep me posted on the progress of this effort. Praying with you. DJ

I've lived in Miami and have listened to this station for nearly 15 years. I used it as devotion in the mornings and at night. It's hard to live this life without having the encouragement that was provided by WMCU. Please save WMCU. AT

Great station. It's such a pity we are unable to hear it. It serves a Godly audience in Miami, and it will be so sad if it goes away. JL

God bless those of you that have taken upon yourself. This huge task of having the radio to get back on the air. LH

My husband and I were truly saddened by the news of WMCU going off the air. It was the first radio station that we listen to after receiving Christ into our hearts and it was a great nourishment and friend in our walk with Christ. Please keep us posted and we will pray for God to restore the radio station. DS

I was a listener of WMCU for about 20 years and since it has been off the air I really miss the station. My son was diagnosed with Cancer in November of last year and God used that station to help me get through some of the worst moments and when ever things were not quiet right that station was used by God and would uplift me and help me get through my day. I moved from Miami exactly 7 years ago this month to North Florida. WMCU was the first Christian station I listened to after my surrender to Christ. My children and I listened and were spiritually fed from WMCU for many years. We fell in love with Dr. Evans teaching, Steven Brown's ministry, Focus and so many, many more. WMCU was with us during and after Andrew - we waited patiently for the tower to be put back up - we learned then how valuable we depended on the station when it was knocked of the air. We have seen God's hand and know that God WILL make a way. Everyone in addition to praying, fasting and believing needs to PRAISE HIM for what he IS doing. We know God's hand is in this but he has yet to reveal His perfect plan. There are many involved in this that need Jesus and maybe this IS the plan. Pray specifically for Him to show all of you that are closely involved how He wants to use you. It does cause tears because we love you guys and feel you are family so even in North Florida your message is being heard and remember you are IN GOD'S HANDS and He does have a plan. Giving God the Glory, D,R,S&J

Spirit FM was the best radio station that South Florida had. No other Christian station plays the variety of music they did and no other station in South Florida plays Petra. JB

I was shocked when I heard about the silencing of the Word and the darkening of the Dade and Broward area. I am saddened because it was the one station that my sister loved listening to. She needed it. My only hope and prayer is that with the help of God's people, God will shine through like he always does. God will never leave us or forsake us. That is his promise. EP

I am so grateful that the good Lord put it in your heart to fight a good fight for our Christian radio station. I cried the whole day the last Friday they were “on the air". I miss it so much as it was part of my daily life. I am in the car many hours of my day and on those days that I was needing comfort, I would be ministered to. This station has been a vital part of my life during the past three years as I have been thirsting for the word of God. I felt that the staff was a part of my family and I miss them very much. SPR

I'm a constant visitor to Miami from Nassau, Bahamas. As I spend time here with my daughter in Miami I often hear Spirit FM playing in her car. I'm very pleased with the radio station, and am disappointed to hear that it's no longer on the air. I'd love to help get it back on the air. BK

I'm just writing to say how saddening it was to find out that Spirit FM was off the air. I am a six-teen year old high school student, and often listened to Spirit FM in my mother's car. I found the music to be very relaxing, and inspiring to listen to. Sometimes it's nice to get a break from the regular Hip-Hop, or R&B and just listen to the Gospel through music. Prior to finding out about Spirit FM I've never heard of any other Christian Radio stations. It truly has been a gift to have such a radio station on the air, and it would be a blessing to have it back on the air. I thank you for taking the time out to read my entire message, it means a lot to know that you truly are concerned about everyone who took the time out to express how much we truly do want Spirit FM back on the air. ST

I too I'm very sad over a ministry that made my day joy filled through worship. I only hope that the wisdom of God would reveal itself in this matter, and that it can be solved. Bless you for the opportunity to give it a try. If Christ is with us who can be against us. LM

I miss 89.7. I was devastated when I heard about. I cried for days...It was my church when I had none. I love the station.... YF

WMCU ROCKS!!! That is what I daughter would say. Thanks for making the effort to Save WMCU! TP

10/16/07

I pray that God maintain this radio station up and running. Many a times 89.7 has been there to lift my spirits when I needed most. God placed you guys to help minister to those in need spiritually. ZC

A scripture came to mind for the campaign to save wmcu. The scripture was Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. I thought it could be a good anchor scripture, one that we, the redeemed, could claim for victory. CHC

I was shocked and disheartened when I heard the news that our community was going to lose WMCU and my question is this: Is this a hostile takeover sale, or is this something that Trinity thought long and hard about? For if it was a hostile takeover, I would think that Trinity would have asked for our prayers during the process that has obviously been going on for some period of time. Their broadcast message stated that the funds would be used to train individuals in the ministry for evangelism throughout the world - could this be God's will rather than the radio ministry? I am a true believer in the power of prayer and will certainly add this to my daily devotions, but we must search our hearts and God's wisdom, for His will and not our own. I loved WMCU and it ministered to me on a daily basis, but will more of the world be reached for Christ through this sale? This should be prayed about also. MLR

10/15/07

Let's pray that the Lord guides us in this valiant effort. JG

I am so glad this is action is taking place. I have been in contact with WAFG, Lesley Hurst station manager, and she raised some concerns I was unaware of. I will do whatever we need to do to keep us in the light. My whole family is miserable about what's happened. God Bless! BP

Let's do everything we can to bring WMCU back to South Florida. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. SS

If at all possible, please keep WMCU as a Christian radio station here in South Florida. Thirty years ago, I began listening to WMCU, shortly after rededicating my life to Christ. It was a source of inspiration, but more than that, of instruction of how to walk out this renewed faith of mine. I had been at best a marginal Christian, but the instruction and encouragement I received from WMCU at the time was really wonderful for me, and I can honestly say helped shaped my character in a positive way to become a contributing member of our South Florida society. CF

This loss was very hard on many of us in S. Florida. The #1 Christian radio station in S. Florida was taken off the air....why? Do the heads of the sale take into consideration what kind of impact this would have on the faithful listeners who listened EVERY DAY for YEARS? I am one of those people. I miss 89.7 very much and I will do all possible to help it come back. God bless! SS

10/11/07

Thank you for doing this. We feel like we have lost a dear friend or family member! JG

10/09/07

This was a deep loss for my family. I miss WMCU every day. I hope and pray these efforts bring back the radio station and continue the ministry in South Florida. JC

10/06/07

I work with a group 11- 16 year olds that are a spirit filled puppet performance team. We live in the Florida Keys and we do outreach with contemporary Christian music and a stage where puppets sing and dance. We do outreach in places such as Mallory Square in Key West, Founders Park in Islamorada and this weekend we will perform at a fundraiser for the country of Tobago. Christian music is very important to our members! We all listen pretty much exclusively to WMCU in the Florida Keys. CD

10/04/07

I never realized how much Spirit FM, meant to me until i heard that they will be out of air. I've been ministered by music, preachers, and all the radio speakers that I feel them as part of my family, and I guess that is what we are A FAMILY. I hope and pray that something good come from all, this because there is NOTHING on the air (I mean regarding to radio stations) I guess is time to pray, meditate, and LISTEN THE VOICE OF GOD. MC

10/03/07

Of course I will and have been praying, but will also do what ever else I can to impress upon whoever needs to know how very much WMCU means to this community. Without taking the credit from other existing Christian stations, WMCU simply stands alone in the quality of programming and heartbeat for Miami and Broward. I know that Trinity wants what is best for the University and Seminary, but hundreds of thousands (if not more) people were being reached effectively and consistently through 89.7 FM. I can't tell you how many have been saved, strengthened, encouraged, challenged, and helped by them. I no longer have a place to turn to, when my kids and I want to sing along together or listen to Adventures in Odyssey - I can't tell my co-worker or friend to be sure to listen at noon to the teaching - I can no longer play the station at my home when I invite a non-believing friend over so that they hear it while we talk. The compassion ministries have lost one of their most staunch allies, and community organizations no longer have a rallying point or partner. I could go on, but all who have listened and participated throughout the years knows how deeply this loss cuts. I have to trust that God is still on His throne, knows what He is doing and will allow only the best for us and S. Florida. I pray His will involves brining WMCU 89.7 - Spirit FM Back to us. JC

10/01/07

I have been praying and will continue to pray that the Lord would arise for His people as He always does!!! God bless all your (our) efforts! AD

10/06/07

Please let me know of WMCU sale updates and what I can do to help reclaim it, or about other options like getting another Christian station to be on 89.7 instead of WMCU, anything but a pubic non Christian, lifeless, purposeless, radio station. But being a listener of WMCU for 22 years and a financial supporter, and sharathon volunteer, I want WMCU back. I have a letter I want to send to FCC or TIU (Deerfield, Illinois) about my feelings about this and my petition for WMCU's return. How, when, and to whom do I send it? Let me know. Do know that I'm praying and I appreciate whoever created this website and its purpose. You got my support. Keep me up to date. If WMCU returns, can the same staff return too? I loved them. God bless you. [Webmaster: We will be giving updates on these issues. Stay tuned.] L.B.

I read a posting on another web site from a listener in your area named Bill. About saving the radio station. We were having our Share-A- Thon on the very same day to raise funds for our Christain Radio to keep it on the air. I felt prompted to e-mail Bill to share this with him. I also shared with Bill that I have a prodical son that I have not seen for 2 years. He is in the Miami area and how wonderful it would be if my son were flipping through stations & found Christain Radio.& listened He is very far from home but even futher from his Heavnly Father. Please lets keep Christian Radio on the air. and pray for my son his name is Chris and he 24. His brother & I miss him. B.O.

Just wanted to be kept informed about anything that can be done to save our christian radio station. J.A.

10/4/07

Understanding that we must give a testimony, can you guys set up a march or some type of peaceful manifestation somewhere in miami or broward? for us to show that we want wmcu back. i am sure you will be supported by the christian community. In the mean time we are praying. [Webmaster -- Before we can organze a large number for a march, we need to get the word out about the website so people have a place to go to get information. Please keep spreading the word!] E.R.

We need a christian station in Miami. The ones listed on the web do not work. Please help! J.B.

Would just like to be of service in any possible way.Thank you. A.H.

I agree that this is a victory for the Enemy. It was such a life force for the Christian Community. I am going to Missouri 10-10 and would like to determine if I have the community's backing to talk to www.Spiritfm.org directors and establish a programing feed that would get the station back on the air will just a few dollars of equipment. The way I would approach www.SpiritFM.org would be to utilize their programming until locations and assets could be gathered to re establish the station again in South Florida. Let me know what the group's feeling is on this. I think I would have a location to start and it would then only take a few pieces of equipment. Let me know. In Christ H.B.

10/03/07

I pray that the Lord will hear our prayers and keep WMCU running for as long as His church is here on Earth...It has been a true blessing to my family and me for many years. May His will be done, in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior I.M.

Like many in the community of WMCU listener's, I was shocked, saddened and even angry that such an incredible ministry to South Florida, one that reaches thousands and thousands of people for the cause of Christ, would be sold and shut down without even so much as a thought for it's committed listener's and employees. I have listened to this station over 20 years and it was a daily habit. I feel somewhat lost right now. I will be willing in any way to help if you let me know how. Thank you for this effort, I will be praying for all who are involved. D.R.

PLease update me on ways to communicate with the FCC. [Webmaster -- we will be posting that info soon.] R.N.

I have been greatly saddened by what is taking place with WMCU. It is a minsitry the Lord has used in my life tremendously, as well as many other lives. Being in Illinois, I don't think TIF, realizes the impact and loss it has been here in Florida and the great void that now exists. I am praying that the Lord do His perfect will and be glorified in the midst. I would love to know what else I can do. Please keep me posted. A.L.

please email me. I love the station. I listen to it all the time. The station's music is very uplifting and encourging to me. Why does the station need saving. P.J.

Can you please send me the information of FCC. I would like to contact them. Also why don't we do some type of passive protestwith signs maybe just saying SAVE WMCU. I'm sure that lots of people would show up. I personally know many who would. This is just so sad, maybe God wants us to stand our grounds- stand up for what we believe in. Maybe this is a way we can show the world how strong we really are. There are more Christians than people actually think. We are strong in our Lord. For He is with us always. D.K.

Thank you so much for this site. I have been praying for God to do something thru the body of Christ in south Florida. Please, contact me for anything. I'll give this site to my friends. M.DP

This station has been a blessing to me, and I wish there was a way to put it back on the air. B.F.

When I heard that there is a way to save WMCU, I did not hesitate to join the fight. WMCU has been a great blessing for me and my family. For this reason, I will dedicate my body and soul for the cause. You can count on me to back you up in this fight to save WMCU. Tell me what to do and I will report for duty, sir. D.C.

There is a big gaping hole in S. Florida! We need to have WMCU back. I will do what i can, but your sight does not give a pop-up as stated on your home page. Please add me to your update list for WMCU. For now I will be praying. Thanks, C.H.

WMCU has ministerd to me and my family for the past 15 years. I do not hear any other radio station but WMCU. I am deeply saddend. I felt like if some close to me had pasted away. My husband had an affair 7 years ago and the only thing that kept me going was WMCU. They ministered to me through the whole ordeal. They even prayed with me and got me the phone number to where I could get counseling. All my family was pushing me to get a divorce and WMCU was ministering me to keep my marraige. Where in today's society do you find this? Nowhere! Where will we find this now? Nowhere! It's gone! And for what? Nobody knows the impact WMCU has made in MIAMI until it has gone. And now its gone and the devil got what he wanted. That is just not right!!!! The only good christian radio station is gone! No please, bring it back!!!! My household does not know of another radio station but WMCU and that is a fact. ALL our radios are on WMCU. The car, the house, the wake up alarms, EVERYONE!!!. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, bring it back. E.A.

Words just cannot express how valuable and instrumental Spirit FM was to my life. No other station played the quality of God-centered music or reflected God's love more than Spirit FM did in the words spoken by the staff. Nor can words express the void in my home, my car, and my life by the absence of Spirit FM's voice. I was priviledged to partner with Spirit FM financially and in prayer, and until Spirit FM is reborn through this movement, I will long for my reunion with so many like-minded believers in Christ. Toward that end, Godspeed! S.M.

I too was deeply saddened and shocked at the sale of WMCU. Considering there is no other Christian radio station I can listen to in my area, I was devastated. WMCU was the only station I listen to. It was WMCU who brought me to Christ and renewed my walk with Him 17 years ago. First by the music. The Lord speaks to me so powerfully through the music. I was immediately moved to want more and so through the ministry of John McCarther which I listened to every morning on my way to drop my children to school and back, I began to grow. Then other programs like Chuck Swindall, Tony Evans, James Dobson and others deeply ministered to me. That lead me to local bible studies; prayer group and quiet time with the Lord. Because of all of this I became involved in several ministry and have had the honor of bringing others (thousands) to Christ through them throughout the last 10 years. All of this just because I one day tuned in to WMCU. They say they are going to use the money to train ministers and counselors, but who are they going to minister to and counsel if the only Christian radio station in South Florida (or at least the Miami area) is kept from attracting and bringing the lost to Christ? It was WMCU that kept me focused on my Christian walk every day. However, as the song says : “Gravity is pulling me on down.I don't want to fall away from You. Gravity is pulling me to the ground…Don’t want to lose my sight of You?Don't want to lose my sight.” WMCU was the ANTI-GRAVITY that kept me from losing my sight. Know that I will pray and fast for the return of WMCU or a station like it. If there is anything else I can do please let me know. The loss of WMCU to me represents the loss of souls for the Kingdom and a threat to my walk. Yours in Christ, A.L. P.S. Perhaps you might want to have a section on the website where people can post how WMCU has touched their lives. [Webmaster: To post comments, people can go to the "our forum" link on the left of the home page.]

I really want to tell FCC, that is should not approve of the sale of WMCU 89.7 SPIRIT FM, a Christian ministry for 37 year , WMCU, should not be sold, this ministry was helping thousands of communities, schools and families. There is so much junk already on radio, we need to preserve this station, we are trying to preserve rare species like manatees and different birds, but what about a spiritual station which is uplifting so many souls everyday. I deeply feel this shouldn't have happened, it was supported by people, for people, why do you have to take this blessing away? They say the funds will be used for future pastors, counselors, etc.... what about the present thousands of faithful listeners who have been depending on this station for the encouragement and spiritual growth...I hope we can have WMCU back.. Listener for 15 years K.K.

Blessings to you, brother, for all your work and effort for this, oh so important, cause. May the Lord be glorified and honored in your (our) efforts. I am saddened to hear about the lifeline to the inmates in prison as well. My own life and family has been so greatly impacted that I am still grieving this loss. This is the only station my 17, 15, and 10 year old sons know. They just don't get it either. Anyway, I have the website posted on my board in my classroom and also sent an email to the ladies in the ladies ministry at Calvary Chapel Doral. I look forward to seeing God work in all of this. May the Lord bless you and keep you... Loving and Serving Him, D.A.

10/01/07:

It was hard to listen to the last song without crying last night and thinking what can be done? It felt as my loved one was on life support and the plug was pulled... Silence filled my ears and my heart was broken hoping that I will soon hear WMCU speak. I know that the Lord gives and He takes away… that everything has a beginning and an end. Thank God that in Christ all things are good and we need to rejoice, for He knows the plans he has for ALL of us, plans to prosper, not to harm. To my surprise an email about this website is a great idea and hope we can soon have a similar Radio Station, because the ride to work this morning was very hard & depressing not listening to my friends. A loyal listener, A.O.

I PRAY THAT THE RADIO STATION WILL BE SAVED SO THAT YOU’LL CAN HELP REACH EVERYONE IN NEED. God bless

Just wanted to be kept informed. L.P.

wmcu have been a part of mylife for 20yrs. i cannot belive without any warning its been pull away from our our community with out any warning. lets help and bring our christian radio station back to the south fl community. S.C.

I am saddened that wmcu has been taken off the air. I have been a listener and supporter of this radio station for 25 years, I have been blessed by it, It is a part of my family, today I was in tears because I did not know what to do. I listen everyday starting at 6am to Kenny and Donna and again on my way home to James. This station is a lighthouse in south florida. Many lives have been changed by the programs that have been aired. Please reconsider and put Spirit FM back on the Air, I think that is what Jesus would want, Isn't this all about Him? it should be. E.J.

[Webmaster comment -- This is a very important one to read!] If I don't listen to WMCU all day or not at all why should I get involved? Just because you are not involved doesn't mean you don't do the right thing. I am not involved in the Pregnancy Centers, but I still support them. I am not involved with the prisoners, but I still support them. As, Christians it should be our responsiblity to be involved in doing the right thing as much as possible. For evil to flourish it takes good people to do nothing. Food for thought or food to be put into action. T.R.

I was so praying we could joined forces in doing all we can with the help of God to save this much needed station. Especially for our teens, they need an alternative to the secular stuff in the other stations. And for us the adults it's a much needed source of daily biblical instruction and encouragement. We all need to pray that God works out a miracle!

Please do not sell this station. Souls might be lost if you do. It is the only Christian station we have here in Dade County. O.D. [Webmaster comment: There are other Christian stations here (see list via one of our links), but for much of Dade County, WMCU is the only one with 1) a signal strong enough to reach and 2) the type of programs and music it has. This is especially true for South Dade.]

I have been praying and will continue to pray that the Lord would arise for His people as He always does!!! God bless all your (our) efforts!

I heard from my friend Jennifer about your efforts to save WMCU from being bought out. I thank God that He has put it in your heart to do something about the situation. I love the station and my family and I have been so blessed by it. You have my support. Just tell me what to do and I will do my part in my area. See you on the battlefield. God bless. In Christ I Stand, D.C.

Hi I am a very loyal wmcu listener and I am crushed to think that the station will be no longer. I want to take action, what can I do??? And yes I have been praying, I have sent a comment to the FCC and I have written an email to trinity asking WHY???? Is there a specific link to email the FCC about this matter. Can we start a petition?? What can we do?? I have this empty feeling that only James, Donna Jean, Kenny, and Marrianne can fill. Please direct me!! S.K.

I don't know if this is already in place, but you should put together an email list so that we can constantly be updated on what is going on with this petition. I am all for trying to save WMCU, but may not reminder to go to this website to see the updated action items on a regular basis. It would help if there was someway to register for a newsletter, or updates, if possible. Thanks! [Webmaster comment: If you enter you name on the website -- you will get e-mail updates.]

I think it is terrible that this station is being sold out for profit. I could understand if the station was in financial disarray, but lives and souls are saved and ministered through this station and there is no other station to take care of the need in the community. Please don't sell!!! L.M.

I have spent my morning send emails to all of the ministries supported by Spirit FM. I am certain that God will lead at least a number of them to help us in our fight. I will keep you informed as I receive responses. I have also contacted several churches in South Florida. Please let me know of any other ideas you might have for me. Love, N.G.

I cannot begin to tell you how upset I was to hear the announcements that this station was going off the air last week. There are so many times that I have been depressed driving to work and this station, would either say something, pray or play a song that would bring me out of my depression. I know for a fact that this happens to numereous people. I work in an office that approximately 5 of us listen to 89.7 and we are all upset of this decision. Please keep me posted should things change and we all will definitely pray for the station and all of you who have touched our hearts during the day. God Bless D.G.

9/30/07:

Save WMCU! So very many people are touched every single day by the wonderful preaching and the word of God.

What can we do? I have been very upset over this whole thing, I can't imagine getting into my car without having WMCU talking/singing to me. It's the only radio station the kids and I listen to!!!! L.H.

We are very sad that WMCU is going of the air. Have a blessed day, D.K.

This is out of line for the Christian community and should not be going on!
